Günter's Story

We had an IBM program for payroll accounting called “LO18” or ”LO20”.

We added 10 or 12 punchcard with some modifications.  The program compile failed.
Not enough memory..!.  We had a 24K machine and only 21,xxx available for use.

After removing a few of cards from an unused routine of this program, the compile runs fine.
